Too many end up as litter or in landfill. CDS Vic changes that.
For every eligible container you return, you’ll get 10 cents back,
and help transform waste into new resources.

Funded by the beverage industry, the scheme supports Victoria’s goal of diverting 80% of waste from landfill by 2030.

Who makes it happen
VicReturn
VicReturn is a non-for-profit funded by the beverage industry, coordinates CDS Vic. VicReturn manages finances, auditing, fraud prevention and community education.
Zone Operators
There are three zone operators – Visy, Return-It and TOMRA Cleanaway, who deliver refund points across Victoria. They manage daily refund point operations, refunds, and recycling.
Victorian Government
The Victorian Government regulates CDS Vic to ensure it operates effectively and fairly.

We are committed to keeping the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme fair, safe and trustworthy. Fraud, corruption and misconduct have no place in our scheme.
CDS VIC APPS
Be aware of fake apps claiming to be part of CDS Vic. Only download the official apps from our zone operators through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Official apps will only ask for your bank details to pay refunds. They will never ask for your credit card details.
