Bin baskets
You can now leave your drink containers in a bin basket for someone else to collect and receive the 10-cent refund. Many councils have installed bin baskets in public places to make it easier to recycle when you’re out and about.
How to use a bin basket
Put your empty eligible drink container in the basket instead of the rubbish bin. Someone else can collect it, return it and receive the 10-cent refund.
Bring bin baskets to your area
If there are no bin baskets in your area, contact your local council and ask about bringing them to your community. Councils can work with CDS Vic to introduce bin baskets in suitable locations.
